Our Story
Mellizoz — named for the Spanish word mellizo and pronounced “may‑E‑so” — means fraternal twins. There are nine sets of Mellizoz in our family, and that spirit of family runs through everything we do.
Founded in Austin, Texas, Mellizoz began as an idea in 2006–2007 and became a working kitchen in December 2008 when our 42' food trailer rolled onto South First Street on a chilly winter day. Built with the help of family and friends, Mellizoz grew into one of Austin’s veteran food trailers, known for fresh ingredients, thoughtful service, and bold, comforting flavors.
While the original trailer is no longer parked on S. First, our roaming truck continues to bring Mellizoz to events and catering around Austin.
